Geek Treats Lexington began as a simple idea shared between a mom and her daughter: "What if we stopped dreaming about a bakery...and actually built one!"
For decades, Barb filled her home with the smell of fresh cakes and cookies. Birthday treats, school-event goodies, rainy-day pick-me-ups, and "just because" sweets for her kids and everyone who wondered through the door. Baking wasn't just a hobby; it was her love language. When she retired in 2025, the timing finally felt right to turn that lifelong passion into something bigger.
Amanda, who has talked about owning a bakery since high school, jumped in feet first. With her creativity, eye for design, and love of all things geeky, teaming up with her mom wasn't just a business decision, it was the next chapter of a shared dream.
Together, we created Geek Treats Lexington, a bakery where imagination leads the way and where every treat tells its own story.
Whether it's a batch of cupcakes inspired by a beloved character, a cake shaped like a favorite fandom, or beautifully detailed cookies for a milestone celebration, we approach each order with care, joy and a whole lot of buttercream.
What Makes Us Different
We don't believe in "perfect or nothing". We believe in creating, experimenting, laughing, trying again, and always improving. Around here, if one design flops, it simply means an even better one is coming.
Every treat is:
Why We Do What We Do
We love the creativity.
We love the challenge.
We love the moment when a customer sees their order and says, "Oh my gosh, it's perfect!"
But most of all, we love the chance to share pieces of our kitchen, our imagination, and our mother-daughter bond with our community here in Lexington, and the state of Kentucky.
Geek Treats Lexington isn't just a bakery; it's our dream brought to life...and we are so grateful you're here to be a part of it.
